Would anyone have a copy of the 1910 Dakota County History and be will to do a lookup for me? Am looking for information on the Norwegian family - last name RUH. Am especially interested on anything pertaining to Peter H. Ruh or his sons Ole Peterson Ruh and Martin Ruh. I was told that they are mentioned in the above County History. And thats about all the info I know. I am also looking for information about Jeremy family also from the Hastings area. My ggrandmother was the daughter of Alexander Joseph Jeremy. Most of the information that I have on the families are from the Lakeside Cemetary inscriptions If anyone has any information, I would greatly appreciate a push in the right direction! Thank you!! Sorry Pat, I don't know anything more about the Ruhs. I copied this page from the newspaper when I was looking for something else on the same page. Deb
. I would love to see if the old f! > amily farm house is still there but have no idea where it was located. > It is easy if you are there, but still possible by mail if the clerks are willing to help. Redwood Falls is the county seat of Redwood County. The Office of Deed Records will have a copy of the deed where they took title, and when they conveyed out by sale or otherwise. (Trade, gift, etc.) The Grantor-Grantee Index will tell you which reel the deed is on. Get a copy. Take it to the County Surveyor's Office in the same courthouse building and they can tell you exactly where the property is located from the legal description. Jim Pearson pearson96@home.com
Hello, I have inherited numerous items from my grandmother and mother's estates all dealing with the "Buechner" family that had a farm in Minnesota. I am new to this researching and am trying to find out what I need to do to find out more. Unfortunately, there are no living relatives that can give me any information. I have the list of names, many wonderful old photographs and albums of the Buechners. Most photos taken in Redwood Falls, Minn. Most intriguing is a large photo (from very early 1900) of the family farm. My g-g-grandmother was referred to as "Mother Buechner". My g-grandmother was Mary Buechner and she was born in 1864. I do know my g-g-grandmother died in 1913 and had 5 childen and 3 step children: John, Matt, Joe, Henry, Mary, Anna, Barbara and Peter Buechner. Any help in this regard would be appreciated. My gggrandmother married a Henry Sierk and I have their marriage license from Rice County, Minn. I would love to see if the old f! amily farm house is still there but have no idea where it was located.

Have since found record of Catherine KELLY death/burial at Calvary Cemetery, St Paul; widower, Michael KELLY, also buried unmarked grave at Calvary Cemetery. Family appears to have moved from Lakeville to St Paul abt 1880. Please note my new email address if any additional info. Thanks. Jackie
Catherine, I am researching my Irish roots from Dakota Co. Ggparents, Michael KELLY & Catherine MURRY, moved there from Mass abt 1863, farmed Lakeville area, moved to St Paul abt 1880. Daughters include: Elizabeth m Patrick LONEY, Catherine m. William J. ROWAN, Bridget m Arthur HAMBLIN. My relationship is to the KELLY/MURRY line. They married 1856/Roxbury, Mass, he listed 1851 as immigration date. No clue re: Irish origins (yet). The William J ROWAN (m. to my grandmother Bridget's sister) b 1859, d 1900. His parents: Luke ROWAN and Bridget LAVALLE. Irish origin: Bonniconlon, Co Mayo. Any relationship to your Rowan search? I'm pursuing all clues to find my KELLY roots. Thanks. Jackie - Milw, WI
Hey Bob, I don't think there is a "Lakeview Cemetery" in Dakota County, Minnesota. I checked two references and could not find a cemetery by that name. There are two Lakeside Cemeteries, one in the city of Hastings, and one in Randolph Township. There is also a Lakeville Grove Cemetery in the city of Lakeville. All three have been transcribed. You can view the list of burials via the Dakota County Genealogical Society website. I did not see your Rufus & Harriet DUNHAM listed. There are some DUNHAMs buried at the Lakeville Grove Cemetery, but not the ones you seek. Happy hunting.
JoAnn, For Lakeville Cemeteries go to: ftp://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/mn/dakota/cemeteries/dakotacm.txt where John Dalby has listed the Dakota County Cemeteries. For the town of Lakeville's web page, go to: http://www.ci.lakeville.mn.us/ Good luck!
