    1. School Census lookup?
    2. ivan nichols
    3. Hello, I'm hoping that someone may be able to help me with a school census report lookup from 1899? Or, perhaps tell me how to find the location of these records, providing that they exist? My family settled at Helena, Montana in 1895 and lived there until at least 1901 when they moved to Idaho. The family appears on the school census reports from 1897, 1898, 1900 and 1901...but not in the report from August, 1899. During the period from August, 1898 to June, 1900 they lived at either Brainerd or Long Lake township. A sisters family, named Kyllingstad, lived at Long Lake and my family is known to have been living close by the Kyllingstads.....if not with them. [Fred and Ane Kyllingstad] After living there during this time they went back to Montana and were found there on the June, 1900 census. Here are their names from the Montana census reports: 1897: Johnson, Bonner/Fred/Parents: F. J. Johnson 1898: Johnson, Bonner/Fred/Magnus/Parents: F. J. Johnson 1899: living at or near Brainerd, Minnesota 1900: Johnston, Barnard/Fred/Thorval/Magness/Parents: John F. Johnston 1901: Johnston, Barnard/Magness/Thorval/Fred/Parents: John F. Johnston My grandfather and his brothers pronounced their father's name 'Yon Yonsen.' The correct names of the boys are Bonner, Fred, Magnus and Torvil. Parents: John and Mary Johnson.
