I've "rescued" an old family letter which was written by Thomas J. BARTLETT of Barnum, Minnesota on the 12th of Feb 1872 to his parents. His parents are not named and their location is not disclosed. Thomas indicates the following in the letter: -He is in good health though has had a severe cold -He is glad they have come to an understanding regarding the place, so he will buy the home for them -He will invest $800 in the farm though he does not want a farm -Lon KRISSEL cheated Thomas out of what little he had -Wonders why Ella F. is not living with her Father -Notes that he hasn't had a letter from AMK or AMR since he left Duluth -Wonders who is glad that he is coming home -He has written to many, but few answer -Notes that he is still able to paddle his own canoe I am hoping to locate someone from this BARTLETT Family so that the letter can be returned to the care of family.
