Dear Nancy, Thank you for your look-up offer regarding the Indian massacre/Sioux uprising books. My Beussmann ancestors were in the New Ulm area at the time. The heads of households were J.D. Beussmann and H.H. Beussman (brothers). It has been passed down in the family that JD and his family had one of the only brick houses in New Ulm at that time, but were forced to flee to Wisconsin during the uprising and when they returned the house was in smoldering ruins. Also somewhere there is a firsthand account by Anna Beussman Quense of her experience in the uprising when she was 10. Anything you find will be appreciated. Thanks, Shannon Reuss
