    1. 1862 SIOUX UPRISING
    2. I have copies of 3 books concerning the Minnesota Massacre in 1862: INDIAN MASSACRE IN MINNESOTA OVER THE EARTH I COME THE SIOUX UPRISING IN MINNESOTA - 1862 These books contain many survivors first hand accounts, and many, many names of families you might be interested in. I would be happy to do look-ups. Also, Park Genealogical Books ([email protected]), has copies of the Sioux Depredation Case Files for sale. If you send them $1 they will send you a list of all the casefiles they have (by name). In 1863 the government took the remaining anuity money still due the Sioux and gave it to survivors who filed claims for damages. Each file contains an affidavit stating the person's property losses, and what happened to themselves & family during the uprising. I wasn't able to find the family I was looking for, but being there were 2,500 claims made, perhaps you will be lucky. Nancy V.
