I have no further information on Mrs. Baker and am not related to her. Betty Jane Baker, 77, Wapello, Iowa, died at 7:45 am Monday, February 19, 2001 at the Wapello Nursing and Care Center. She was born November 16, 1923 at New Ulm, MN to Ernst and Anna Messner Frank. She graduated from the Gaylor, MN high school. In September 1945 she married Sam Baker in Burlington, Iowa. Mrs. Baker was a computer operator for GE in Burlington and had also worked for Samsonite Luggage in Michigan. She was affiliated with the Oakville Apostolic christian Church in Oakville, Iowa. She is survived by two sisters, Liberty Gerst and Marty Beuhler, Wapello, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, five brothers and five sisters. The funeral service for Betty Jane Baker was at 1 pm Wednesday, February 21, 2001 at the Oakville Apostolic Christian Church, officiated by the Ministers of the Church. Interment was in the Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery, Oakville, Iowa. Visitation was Tuesday, February 20 in the Lunning Chapel (Burlington, IA), where the family met with friends in the evening. A memorial has been established for the Burlington Apostolic Christian Church.
