David may have homesteaded there in 1868 (there is a registered homestead at St. Peter office). David and Sarah came from New Jersey. The oldest 3 children were born in New Jersey, Mary in Illinois and the last three in MN. Sarah Thompson and Mary (Gibbs) later homesteaded in Divide Co., North Dakota after the turn of the century. Jacob (Jake) married Ida Elizabeth Ross, daughter of Walter Scott Ross and Sarah S. Alden Ross.
