I am not related to Mrs. Baker and have no further information. Betty Jane Baker, 77, Wapello, Iowa, died at 7:45 am Monday, February 19, 2001 at the Wapello Nursing and Care Center. She was born November 16, 1923, at New Ulm, MN to Ernst and Anna Messner Frank. She graduated from the Gaylor, MN high school. In September 1945 she married Sam Baker in Burlington, Iowa. Mrs. Baker was a computer operator for GE in Burlington and had also worked for Samsonite Luggage in Michigan. She was affiliated with the Oakville Apostolic Christian Church in Oakville, Iowa. She is survived by two sisters, Liberty Gerst and Marty Beuhler, Wapello, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, five brothers and five sisters. The funeral service for Betty Jane Baker was at 1 pm Wednesday, February 21, 2001, at the Oakville Apostolic Christian Church, officiated by the Ministers of the Church. Interment was in the Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery, Oakville, Iowa. Visitation was Tuesday, February 20 in the Lunning Chapel, where the family met with friends in the evening. A memorial has been established for the Burlington Apostolic Christian Church.

MARY GOBLIRSCH Mrs. Mary Goblirsch, 90, of 418 N. Jefferson, died Friday at her home following an illness of three weeks. Funeral services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Ulm with burial at St. Mary’ Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm 3 to 9 p.m. today and Monday from 8 until the time of services. A Parish Rosery will be Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. She was born Dec. 10, 1879 in Milford Township to Mr. and Mrs. Peter Seifert. She married Joseph Goblirsch May 30, 1899 at St. George Catholic Church. He died May 14, 1942. She is survived by one son, Raymond, of New Ulm, and four daughters, Mrs. Sophie Ganske of Hewitt, Miss Mildred Goblirsch of Minneapolis, Mrs. Clarence (Hildegard) Hauser of Lafayette, and Mrs. Helen Zupfer of Waukesha, Wis. Joseph Goblirsch, Rural Telephone Promoter, Dies Joseph J. Goblirsch, 70, pioneer, of Lafayette township and for 30 years a resident of Cottonwood township, died at the Goblirsch home at 1:30 a.m. today. He had been ill but two weeks. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will be at the Catholic cemetery here. Joseph J. Goblirsch was a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Goblirsch, pioneer residents of Lafayette township, and was born April 10, 1872, and grew to manhood on the farm. He and Miss Mary Seifert, were married May 30, 1899. They first resided on a farm in Lafayette township and 30 years ago moved to the present farm home in Cottonwood township. Mr. Goblirsch has been an outstanding civic-minded citizen and took an active interest in the development of the community. He was a director of this utility for a number of years and was reelected a director from Cottonwood township at the recent annual meeting. For many years Mr. Goblirsch was a member of the school board of District 3, Cottonwood township, and took an active interest of the welfare and progress of that rural school. Mr. Goblirsch was a member of St. John's Court, C. O. F. The widow together with the following children survive: Mrs. Casper (Veronica) Schluck, Oskalocsa, Iowa; Mrs. Herbert (Sophie) Ganske, Comfrey; Raymond Goblirsch, Sigel; Otto Goblirsch, Cottonwood; Mrs. Clarence (Hildegard) Hauser, Cottonwood; Miss Mildred Goblirsch, Minneapolis; Mrs. Emil (Helen) Zupfer, Milwaukee, Wis. There are 11 grandchildren. Halter Dies at Springfield, Brown County, Minnesota Christian Fredrick Halter, one of Cottowood county's pioneers passed away suddenly to his final reward Friday evening, May 25, at the Old Folks Home at Springfield, Minn., being 81 years of age at the time of his death. Christian Friedrick Halter was born on May 1, 1853, near Eichoist, Germany. In the spring of 1854 he immigrated with his parents to America, settling near Madison, Wisconsin. There they lived until the year of 1869, when they settled near New Ulm, until the year 1871, when they came to Cottonwood county. Here he spent most of his years, with the exception of a few years which were spent in Omaha, Nebraska. In the fall of 1917 he decided to go to the Old Folks home at Springfield, where he made his home until his death. Mr. Halter was man of christian character, being baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith which faith he confessed unto his end. The pallbearers ere six nephews of the deceased: William, Otto, Edward, Albert, Joe and Reinhold Halter. Deceased leaves to mourn his death, four brothers, namely, Henry of Jeffers, Herman of Lamberton, Thomas of Delft, and August of Spokane, Wash., and a number of relatives and friends. The last rites, read by Rev. Fisher, were held last Monday afternoon at the Old Folks Home at Springfield. Relatives attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Herman Halter, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Halter and son, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Halter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Halter and son, Mr. and Mrs. John Halter, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Anderson, all of Lamberton; Henry Halter, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Torkleson and sons, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Schmidt and family, Mr. and Mrs.Herman Schmidt and son, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Quade, Mr. and Mrs. Delbert McCartney, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Schneider, Mr. and Mrs. Wm.     3. DJ I have information on the HUELSKAMP line for several other States besides Minnesota ... these would be Illinois, Kansas, Nebraska, and Ohio. One of the Ohio HUELSKAMP'S was a William ... son of John and Mary (HEITKAMP) HUELSKAMP. Also have material on the original family in Germany ... all in German ... dates of birth, etc. ... all is "zeroxed and difficult to read ... will be trying to improve the pages with my editing program one of these days.
