He was my gg grandfather. I still haven't figured out just where exactly the property is on any BE County map. (His name was Henry John Mayer, Sr. aka Heinrich Mayer b. in Hessen, Germany). From the family history my gr. aunt wrote, the property was on the edge of Lake Crystal. But the census records say the family lived in Butternut Valley.
