(UP) - Three persons were burned to death today when an explosion and fire destroyed their two story farm home five -miles east of here. The dead were Edward Ubel, 46, his wife, and their daughter, Pollyanna, 12. The family was trapped when flames enveloped the house after a gas stove exploded in the basement. Louis Reinhart, a neighbor, saw the flames, but he was unable to enter the burning house. The walls and floors of the house caved in while New Ulm firemen were attempting to check the fire. The bodies were found by firemen in a corner of the basement, where they apparently had fallen when the floors collapsed. Sheriff Frank Cords, of Blue Earth County, said the house must lave been rocked by an explosion preceding the fire. Curtains from the house were found 60 feet away. Cords, John Reitter, Brown county sheriff, Milton Mason, county attorney, and Coroner G. A. Dahl opened an investigation immediatey Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
