I was a mailman in Mapleton,and delivered mail to Bernadine Sommer when she lived in the apartments across from the school. Their son Robert and his family lived on my old mail route also. Robert did pass away though. The man you mentioned as Sparky Nienow,was living in Mapleton also. He has passed away ,but it was way past 1975. I worked for 6months for his son Robert Nienow on his farm in 1988 before I got into the post office fulltime,and Sparky was still coming out to the farm then. I cant remember the exact year that Sparky passed away. His son Robert is still farming in Mapleton.
