I've "rescued" an old photograph of Carolina JOHNSON which she sent on a postcard in August 1910 from Roland, IA to her Cousin Miss Bertha JOHNSON in Jeffers, MN. Carolina appears to be in her 20's at the time the photograph was taken. Based on limited research I was able to locate the following information regarding Carolina and her family: Caroline G. JOHNSON was b. May 1886 in Mason City, IA to parents George JOHNSON (1843-1920) and Olina or Olena JOHNSON (b. 1859 in Norway-d. 1933 in Story Co. IA). Caroline was one of 4 children born to this couple including John C.; Caroline; Christina M.; and Otis Gerhard or Gehord JOHNSON, all born between 1885 and 1892. Her cousin was Bertha Emelia JOHNSON b. 8 Apr 1890 in Roland, IA to parents John Knudt JOHNSON (1862-1909) and Julia Jorgine AMUNDSON (1858-1928). Bertha was one of 7 children born to this couple including, Edward Cornelius; Joseph Martin; Carrie M.; Bertha Emelia; Julia Johannah; Randall or Randolph; and Clarence JOHNSON, all born between 1884 and 1896. Bertha died 6 Apr 1975 in Brooten, MN. Caroline's Mother and Bertha's Father were siblings. Census records provide the following details: 1900 census of Warren, IA: John K. Geo JOHNSON, age 54, born Aug 1846, married 15 years, born Denmark, parents born Denmark, to USA 1866, a Farmer Olina JOHNSON, wife, age 41, born Jan 1859, married 15 years, 4 children/4 living, born Norway, parents born Norway, to USA 1859 John C. JOHNSON, son, age 15, born May 1885, born IA Caroline G. JOHNSON, dau, age 14, born May 1886, born IA, at School Christina M. JOHNSON, dau, age 10, born Sept 1889, born IA, at School Otis G. JOHNSON, son, age 7, born Jun 1892, born IA, at School 1910 census of Amboy, MN: Edward C. JOHNSON, age 25, born IA, parents born IL/Norway, a Farmer Julia JOHNSON, Mother, age 57, a widow, 6 children/6 living, born Norway, parents born Norway, to USA 1872 Joseph M.
