Last night after I posted I was looking around. Did you happen to find Mary in the 1910 census? In the 1900 it lists her as having 7 children and 7 survive. I "think" I may have found another child born to her and Henry that must have died before the 1885 census. The reason I am telling you this is because somewhere there are births recorded in this time frame. Hattie does not show up on this site but a child by the name of Ella does that was born in Rice County. This is a fun site if you don't know about it if you are looking for people in MN. Here is the site and her entry: http://dalbydata.com/user.php?action=birthsearchresults BUTLER ELLA JANETTE 16/APR/1882 FEMALE - WHITE FARIBAULT, MN. WILLIAM H. MARY E. CANADA - ILLINOIS FARMER If Mary died in 1926 it does list her. It lists her under the "cemetery" search but the cemetery is listed as "unknown". BUTLER MRS OCT/1926 UNKNOWN (burial) SP. ?. BUTLER, ILL. FDN. 06/OCT/1926 I don't know if Henry died or if they divorced. BUT do be aware that if he did die and you are looking for him in Rice county, there is Henry that was born in Canada around the same time as your Henry. If you look for land records or other records pertaining to Henry, make sure you have your Henry. Best of luck in finding Hattie's birth record.
