(She and her sister Ruth both are living in Gwinner.) I really don't remember your parents, but I knew Selma & Dave. Selma, RaLetta Fluegel and Delano's wife furnished the information for the Rudolph Bergemann family for the book. I also included the article that your Dad wrote that appeared in the Minneapolis Tribune (Jan 1978) The book was written in 2003 and I had two printings with over 250 sold, and unfortunately I do not have any left. Author: lakekid3 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.minnesota.counties.blueearth/878.2.1.2.2.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Just the facts, well raised in Mankato I know exactly where the monument was placed. It was at the corner of Front St. And Main St. next to the old Standard station just before the RR tracks and North Mankato Bridge. My best friends brother was the one that dumped the red paint on the stone monument thinking he was part Indian. After the Viet Nam protests in the late 60's people were a little spooky of genocide as a whole and it was spirited off in the night by the city and is said to be buried in Sibley Park. IT read " Here were hanged 38 Sioux Indians Dec. 27, 1862. A bison statue stands at the very sight now with a much toned down message. 2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" an old photograph of Will E. HOUGHTON which was taken at the P. Peterson Studio in Lake Crystal, Minnesota. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1880's with Will listed as 23 years and 8 months old at the time the photograph was taken. I am hoping to locate someone from this HOUGHTON Family so that the photograph can be returned to their care. If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley
