I've "rescued" an old photograph of Ada CHASTEEN which was taken at the Carmichael Studio in LeSueur, Minnesota. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1890's with Ada likely in her teens at the time it was taken. In addition to her name, she appears to have written "To Uncle John" on the back of the photograph. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Ada and her family: Ada Regina CHASTEEN was b. 1 Oct 1878 in Le Sueur, MN to parents Renford Gilbert CHASTEEN (b. 1 Mar 1854 in Bloomington, IN) and Doris Emma SEEBECK (b. 30 Sept 1857 in Hanover, Germany). Ada married William Henry SCOTT (b. 22 Jul 1871 in Ottawa, MN) on 27 Jan 1898 in Le Sueur Center, MN and together they had 10 children, including Earl Leslie; Hazel Alean; Lloyd; Floyd Edmond; Edna May; Doris Louise; Roland Leroy; Dorothy Mabel; Gladys Juanita; and Ruth Irene SCOTT all born between 1898 and 1922 in Le Sueur, Mankato, and Lake Crystal, MN. Ada CHASTEEN SCOTT died 8 Nov 1952 in Minneapolis, MN. Census records provide the following information: 1880 census of St. James, MN: R. CHASTEEN, age 26, born IN, a Farmer, parents born KY Dora CHASTEEN, wife, age 20, born Hanover, parents born Hanover Ada CHASTEEN, dau, age 1, born MN Ella LEEDICK, sister, age 18, born MN, at Home, parents born Hanover 1900 census of Le Sueur, MN: Harry SCOTT, age 27, born Jul 1872, married 3 years, born MN, parents born IN/KY, a Day Laborer Ada SCOTT, wife, age 21, born Oct 1878, married 3 years, 1 child/1 living, born MN, parents born IN/Germany Hazel A.
