    1. [MNBLUEEA] BORN Family Photographs
    2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" three old photographs from the BORN Family of Minnesota. The first is a photograph of Martha, Tillie, and Marie BORN which was taken at the Blissenbach Studio in Mankato, MN in the 1890's. The three girls appear to be about 3 to 10 years old at the time the photograph was taken. The second photograph is one of Tillie BORN, taken at the same studio in Mankato and appearing to be a confirmation photograph taken in her early teens. The third photograph is one of Marie BORN taken at the Blissenbach Studio also in the 1900's with Marie likely in her teens at the time it was taken. Based on limited research I was able to discover the following information regarding this family: All three are children of John Ulrich BORN (1857-1934) and Marie Christina HARTUNG (1867-1959). The couple had 6 children including, Martha M.; Ottilie E.; Marie C.; John J.; Albert Christian; and Arthur Hugo or George BORN all born between 1891 and 1905. Martha Marianna BORN was b. 1 Jun 1891 in Mankato, MN and married Louis Ferdinand BEHNKE (1884-1954) in 1920 and she died 7 Oct 1975 and is buried in the Decoria Cemetery in Blue Earth Co., MN. Martha's obituary lists survivors as a daughter, Mildred HAIN of Regina, Sask, Canada; a son Wayne BORN of Good Thunder, MN; a brother Albert BORN of Mankato, MN; and sisters Tillie OTTO and Marie BORN both of Mankato, MN. Ottilie Eliza or Elise or Elizabeth BORN was b. 9 Dec 1892 in Blue Earth Co., MN and she married John or Johann Ferdinand Jacob OTTO (1891-1972) in 1916. Tillie died 2 Jan 1988 in Olmsted Co., MN and is buried in the Woodland Hills Memorial Park in Mankato, MN. Marie Cecelie or Cecelia Louise BORN was b. 23 Jan 1895 in Blue Earth, MN. I am hoping to locate someone from this family so that the photographs can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

The couple had 5 children including, Evalina "Eva" Hulda; Van Frank; Donna "Donnie" Anna; Bessie Zuleme or G. or Y. or E.; Hazel Fern BRIGGS, all born between 1887 and 1898. I am on the Teigland side. Hans Teigland was Sarah's brother. His son, Marvin Teigland, was my Dad. I will be going up to North Dakota in May and will be stopping in at the North Dakota Historical Society in Bismarck to see if I can locate information on the births of the children that were born in Foxholm, Ward County, North Dakota. Lillian Arnold is the first one of the children who was born after they moved to Diamond Bluffs, Wisconsin. She was followed by their last child, Herbert Winston. The rest were born in North Dakota. I have differing dates from my cousin than what is showing on the death certificates. Sarah's Brother, Jacob, is who signed the certificates as informant. I absolutely can not imagine what that had to have been like for him. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 3. Hello, According to the 1885 MN State Census, Catherine Chafer Boyer was 76 years old and born in NY. Note that the records below show a different spelling - this is not unusual and it may very well be that Chafer was extrapolated from Schafer or similar name. A quick search of NY Records yields this: https://familysearch.org/search/record/results?count=20&query=%2Bgivenname%3ACatherine~%20%2Bsurname%3AChafer~%20%2Bbirth_place%3A%22New%20York%22%20%2Bbirth_year%3A1808-1811~%20%2Brecord_country%3A%22United%20States%22%20%2Brecord_subcountry%3A%22United%20States%2CNew%20York%22 Martha CC Blue Earth County GenWeb
