Joy, I found my 1903 plat map of Graham twp. and located a Joseph Stellmach farm. It was located in sect. 26, same as the school. school was on the west side of the section, and Stellmach farm located almost directly east of the mile section. They had 80 acres , so you have the early plat map? Dist. 37, location from Rice, MN according to plat map; about 1990; Sect. 26 on my plat map 1-go east out of Rice on #2 (on map has a square around it, so not sure what designation; county, state, twp, road etc you will go by the lumber yard as you go out of Rice (at least there was a lumber yard there 4 years ago 2-follow #2road, it curves and then goes straight east, about 5 miles you will cross #25 (circle around it on map) 3- about where #2 and 25 meet, you will curve slightly again to continue east on #25 there was an old wooden sign there that said Silver Corner (if memory serves me right, #2 became 25, maybe local people can help here) 4- about 1 and 1/2 miles a farm on the north side belongs to Lentner , this was the old GOEDERT homestead 5-continue east to the next mile road and turn north, about a half mile in was about the location of the Dist. 37 on the east side of the road. (The Goedert children-my husband's ancestors---would cut across fields to walk to the school. The original school had about 2 square foot metal like material as siding. This school building was moved to a farm south about a half mile south of road 25 where it was used as a garage or storage shed. Four years ago, We were told it still stands there of course with much upkeep I am sure. It you kept going easterly on road #25, you would come to a town called Gilman, (Mayhew Lake is not on my map, but I seem to remember it was to the south, ) the Joseph Stellmach farm in 1903 was located 1 mile further east,of the road that went to the school, then north about a half mile, it would be the north half of the SE fourth of section 26, if I figured it out correctly. I have plat maps of about 1903 and 1990 that I can attach and send if someone would like them. I got these maps from the Benton Co. Historical museum ,I believe locatedin Sauk Rapids I am doing much of this from memory because we just moved and much of my genealogy materials are still boxed somewhere in a closet. I did have some hand drawn maps and the plat maps in my notebook. Then I had a computer crash and lost some material (I hate it when people say they lost genealogy material in a computer crash, but it happens!!! Hope my information is understandable, and helps someone. Ellen

Are there any Rang kids in the school dist 37, Graham twp., thanks, Judy
Hi; Saw your offer on the schoolhouse in Graham Twn in 1908. I believe my Grandmother and her two brothers would have gone then to the schoolhouse in Mayhew or Watab Twn. Would you please check for BERGSTROM on your list, that would be Clara, Bill and Walter? Does anyone else have any information or pictures in that time period of other Benton Twn. schools? Thank you for your offer, Carol **************One site keeps you connected to all your email: AOL Mail, Gmail, and Yahoo Mail. Try it now.
