Hi! Has anyone some information about Eric Herman Akerstrom, who worked in Benton, Monnesota in 1920? He emigrated from Sweden in 1911. Many greetings from Sweden Bengt Östbom
Hi , I am hoping someone in the Benton County, Glendorado Township will be able to give me a hand. I am looking for ANY info. on my uncle Charles BECKER b. 1872c died sometime around 1931, His wife Mahilda moved in with their son Arthur (b.1895) in 1932, so I assume he was killed in a farming mishap before that, he was supposed to own a farm in this area, they also had a daughter Dorothy (b.1908) , who married a Clarence HANSON from that same area in 1933. I would like to find out what happen to Charles and where his farm was located and what kind of farming mishap took place, I understand he was cremated, I also believe he was Lutheran. Thank you for your help, Bill Becker, Phx. AZ.

Hi Benton List members, I loved all the plot maps that were sent on St. George township etc. I found lots of family members. I would love any information on the Bozych surname. Enoch Bozych I can't seem to find. Thanks! Patti
Hi Pam and Listmembers: There is some interesting information on the following Web site regarding Paul Jurek and Theodore Jurek along with other farmers in St. George Township during 1915: http://www.holymtn.com/Family/. Look under "Selected Maps." This is an actual document of the Farmers Directory of 1915 for St. George Township that you can blow up and read online or print. Paul is listed owning 120 acres in Rt. 1, Sec. 27 with wife Agnes and children Dominick, Clara, Raymond, Ruldolph and Martha. They have lived in the county for 34 years. Theodore is listed owning 160 acres in Rt. Sec. 32 with wife Hattie and children William, Helen, Benjamin, Frank, Joseph, Margaret, Martha and Florence. They have lived in the county for 12 years. Kind of a neat document, there are also maps of the actual plots under the home page of www.holymtn.com. Ron Zurek Benton County Coordinator MNGenWeb/USGenWeb Project

I'm quite certain that none of that granite came from Benton County. Most came from Stearns. The quarries on this side of the river were not the best of granite. Except of course that prison in Sherburne being built of some of it. Even the Feds were mislead by Granite Ledge Twp. That's another story in Benton County's recent history.
