    3. Dear Ron and all of you who wrote to me, There most certainly are people on this list, and you are all so friendly and helpful. I was way off base when I thought it was a "ghost list". Please accept my apology. This information that you sent Ron, is very helpful. I will contact the minister of Mission Covenant Church in Foley. My Swedish ancestors have been so difficult to find. We knew they came over in 1869, but they moved alot to Wright County and Carver County and it took over 8 years of looking to find that they came from Larv, Sweden, and they were buried here in Maywood Cemetery in Benton County. Their names are August RODIN and his wife Magdalena Bengstad RODIN. Their daughter who became my Grandmother was 11 when they came over in 1869. She married a Danish man, Martin SORENSEN, and settled in Duluth. Now that I know this, I want to learn it all. So you probably will be hearing from me again. :-) Thank you, Nancy -----Original Message----- From: Rzurek@aol.com [mailto:Rzurek@aol.com] Sent: Monday, January 20, 2003 1:52 AM To: MNBENTON-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [MNBENTON] Re: Maywood Township Cemeteries Maywood Township, Minnesota Cemeteries Elwell Cemetery  - 037/28/04/NENW     - This cemetery is also known as Mound Cemetery. 3. Just in case there is anybody out there: Hello, I joined this list about three weeks ago and sent this quire to the list about ten days ago. I haven't had any response to my question or seen any other questions submitted. If nobody knows the answer to my question, I understand that, but I suspect I am the only person on this list. If there is anybody else, would you give a "Hey! I am here too"? The Great River Regional Library has a subject contents index of the St. Cloud Times back to 1928 ! It includes obituaries also! You can't view the entire article, but this is a wonderful index for finding things you probably didn't know existed. (1) go to www.griver.org (2) click on "internet Link" (3) select "news" (4) then lick on St. CLoud Times Index. Executive Editor Susan Ihne wrote a nice piece that explains all of this: St. Cloud Times, Sunday, Jan. 12, 2003. Page 8B, Opinion Page.

    3. I'd like to introduce Melissa Brawley to this list. Melissa has agreed to be the volunteer in charge of Benton County, as the Minnesota Genealogical Society attempts to inventory the exact location of every cemetery in the county. We are attempting to learn not only the townhip, range and section numbers for each cemetery, but also the longitute/latitude, sexton name, address, driving directions, management organization if there is one, etc. We'd like to know if the cemetery is still active, how old it is, and whether or not someone has transcribed the cemetery burials. If you, or anyone you know, has info on Benton County MN cemeteries, will you please send that info to Melissa,at: melissa@carlsamuelson.com Thank you very much!! Darlene C. 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/GGB.2ACE/60 Message Board Post: I am trying to determine what happened to Louis WALLS and his wife May. The story goes something like this. In about 1907 Louis WALLS (aged 36) married May ____ (aged 20) in Benton County. Louis was the son of Henry P. Walls. According to the 1910 census, Louis and May are living in Benton county. Living with them are Louis' father, Henry, and 2 children, Leonard L. Walls (born abt 1908) and Elmer Walls (born abt 1909). By 1920, both Louis and May have apparently died. Leonard and Elmer are living in an orphanage near Blue Earth in Bentley county. Also living in the orphanage is what I believe to be a third son, Theodore, who was born abt 1912. There is a possibility that there was a fourth son, Richard, born in abt 1914. The 1920 census shows that Richard is not living in the orphanage, but is living in Sauk Rapids with George H. Moshier and his wife Minnie. George is listed as being a caretaker at the fairgrounds. By 1940 Theodore has married Gladys Danm and is living in Sauk Rapids when one of his sons, Wayne R., dies of leukemia at age 2. That is the last that I can find of any of the children of Louis and May. I have checked the Minnesota death records and there is no record of the death of either Louis, May or any of the children. Does anyone know what happened to Louis, May or thier children? Louis and May would have most likely died sometime between 1914 and 1920 in Benton county.

    3. Looking for any information on the Thomas Roan(e) family that appear on the 1870 and 1880 Census in Maywood. We know that Thomas had at least one son through a previous marriage, Thomas Jr. Through his 2nd wife, he had 3 children. My biggest challenge is to find where and when Thomas died, and the first avenue to look is in Benton Co. Anyone run across the ROAN Name??? I have a photo of this man, his 2nd wife, and one of their children. He was born abt. 1828 in Ireland, and believed to have lived in Canada before coming down to Minnesota. Thanks, John
