Unknown Newspaper, (Probably New Ulm), Brown County, Minnesota, November 30, 1927 MRS CATHERINE SONS Mrs. Catherine Sons died at the family home at 926 North Franklin street in this city Monday morning at 4:40, after a lingering illness of more than a years' duration. Leakage of the heart and cancer of the liver caused her demise. Mrs. Catherine Sons, nee Lux, was born in Duppach, Germany, August 1, 1880. The Lux family came to this country in the spring of 1881 settling in Cedar county, Nebraska. Four years later they moved to Hoven, S.D., where the deceased lived until she was married to Herman Sons, April 23, 1903, in the Brighton Church in Nicollet county. Following the death of her husband in 1914, Mrs. Sons moved to Hoven, S.D. where the family resided until 1919 when they returned to New Ulm to make their home. The deceased is survived by five children, namely: Father Claude Sons, O.S.B., St. Johns Abbey Collegeville, Minn., and the Misses Magdeline, Frances, Claudia and Agnes at home. She also leaves to mourn her mother, Mrs. Magdeline Lux of Hoven, S.D., and four sisters, Mrs. Martin Lux, of Nezperco, Idaho; Mrs. Fred Schaefer, Glenburn, N.D.; Mrs. Mary Gentemann, Yankton, S.D., and Miss Josephine Lux of Hoven, S.D. Two brothers, Peter C. Lux of this city and John Lux of Hoven, S.D. also survive. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 9 o'clock from the Holy Trinity church and interment will be made in the Catholic cemetery. Mrs. Sons was a member of the St. Elizabeth Society and of the Christian Mother's Society, both organizations will be represented at the last rites.
