    1. Re: [MIWEXFOR] William Kelley
    2. Hello Thomas, Thank you for checking the 1840 & 50 census. What I recently found was the following: 1870c MI Ionia County, Post Office Saranac, William Kelley age 51 bn NY Occupation Poke Mfg.(the word Poke was illegible) Wife Adeline age 45 bn NY Adaline age 20 bn in MI, home George 16 School bn. MI Charles 13 " " " Helen A. Kelley, d/o William Kelley and Nancy (nee VanNess) Kelley. The information I have is that Wm and Nancy Van Ness Kelley was born in NY and their children were born in Cadillac, MI Wexford County. Then on 1870 census Greenville, MI Montcalm ounty Town of Sidney I see George Van Ness age22 bn NY farmer(this man born then 1848) so Nancy Van Ness age 14 born in MI must be a sister to him. All this sounds confusing and I got some of my info off Heritage Quest thr 1870 data above. The Adaline listed age 20 on the 1870 census then could not be the Adeline Helen I have birth record that she was born 1875 Cadillac MI and her father is William Kelley. As I see it, perhaps there is a tombstone in Cadillac somewhere for William Kelley: his daughter was born 1875 in Cadillac, in 1884 Cadillac Directory there is a man boarding with Mrs N.L. Kelley. So Wm died after 1875 and before 1884. The Kelley lived up the hill near the Wexford Museum. I was told that they had a restaurant on the Corner of Mitchell and Cass for years, now there is Johnston Realestate office there. Thank you and I do appreciate if you can give me any leads.
