When I visited the county court house in 2008 the early divorce books were listed as Chauncery Court records (also spelled Chancery) and they were very large books that were NOT indexed....you had to look by date. Chauncery court is more than divorce records - this court dealt with family & equity matters. I found my 2nd great grandfather being foreclosed on in these books. These books were at the court house in their vault. It would be nice for someone to volunteer to go through and transcribe and index them as I quickly ran out of time and had to quit before I found what I was looking for. I also needed divorce information but finding the foreclosure was interesting. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
