He was born circa 1851 in Michigan and married Mary BURGESS circa 1877. Their children were: Sallie (born October, 1878 in MI, NFI), Isaac (1881-1945, married Charlotte COAN), Clarence (1885-1961, married Blanche Leone ARNOLD), Lloyd (born March, 1889, married Ida L. SCHIPANSKI), Verna E. "Vern" (a son, 1895-1979) and a child that did not survive. This family appears in the 1900 US Census for Liberty Twp., Wexford Co., MI and seemingly nowhere else. (Yes, I have searched the new LDS Record Search Pilot Site.) Clarence Vandercook reportedly owned the Chevrolet dealership and garage in Manton. He and Blanche are buried at Fairview Cemetery there. (The other Vandercooks buried in Fairview are from a different, traceable line.) Several of the siblings from this family migrated downstate to Wayne Co.
