    1. Re: [MIWEXFOR] Winthrop Vandercook family
    2. Linda, There is a very large tombstont in Maple Hill Cemetery in Cadillac whose surname is WORDEN: there is no given name on the tomb. I also came acrossed the naame WORDEN in some of my research but cannot put my finger on it immediately as I have been working on another family. Would you let me know more about Mary Jane WORDEN? His name was mentioned in a newspaper article of a private letter so I do not know if he was a friend or related to another family I am working on. I have a VanNess born 1819 without a given name who appear to be the father of :Nancy Louisa (nee VanNess)Kelley. Her husband William died 1878. She remarried to George D. VanVranken 1887 in Cadillac....she was about 12 years older than he. Nancy had a brother George E. VanNess bn 1848.So far that is all the sibblings I found. Do you have the parents names of John VanNess and dob? I do not know if any of this is helpful but I am inclined to believe that the VanNess' are related somehow . I even found some in Oakland County and Saranac, MI with some of the same names.
