He took a boat out on Lake Michigan and drowned. He was found on a Michigan shore. He died between 1873 and 1874 based on Chicago records. Chicago has no death record of him. Is there any way I could get a death record from Michigan? I don't know what county he ended up in. He was born in 1829 and immigrated in 1871.
