I have not been able to location divorce files myself for a family member believed to be divorces from 1880-1890. Since the counties use to be combined, then separated I have tried both, but with no luck. Manistee county's records were burnt in a fire. I would call and check for them in Wexford, but can't remember off hand why but I could not get them their either. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I was browsing the Wexford, Ireland message boards a few days ago. I've just realised I've posted on the USA board. Bridget and Paul were both born 1901 Wexford in Ireland. I found Paul Pithman on the Irish 1901 aged 1 month old and 1911 Irish census. I believe Paul Christopher Pithman may be a distant relative of mine. Quite a few Pithman's moved to Gravesend, and still occupy the area today. Thank you. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Looking for Walsh and Pithman. My Great Grandparents Bridget Walsh 1901-1958 and Paul Pithman 1901-1983. They had several children, some stayed in Wexford, and some moved to England, My grandmother Brenda settled in and around London. I met family in Wexford in the mid 90s when I visited with my grandmother( daughter of Bridget and Paul -- also named Bridget, -- known as Brenda Pithman, born 1937 -- the youngest child who left Ireland at the age of 14. -- married Name Cox. I managed to Trace Paul Pithman, his parents and siblings on the 1901 and 1911 Irish census. The problem I have is tracing back further, and tracing Bridget's side of the family -- the Walsh's! I'm unable to get information on Bridget's parent's and siblings, as my mother doesn't know, and my grandmother is at an age where she gets confused with names. I just want to trace my ancestors as far back as I can go, and to learn more about my great grandmother Bridget Walsh, who was much loved by my grandmother Brenda. Paul Pithman's parents were Paul and Annie. It has been known for their name to be spelt Pitman. Also Paul Pitman Jnr had another child out of wedlock! Thank you for taking time to read this. Good Luck to you all in searching your history. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I have spent hours on both of the following websites and have found them to be very helpful in searching for my family. One of my best finds was my great grandparents marriage information, I knew their names and approximate year of marriage and I was able to find their marriage record and discovered both of their parents information also. My Grandmother is 90 and was so excited to get a copy of this information before she died. Here is a website to search for Birth/Christening information, marriage information for the years 1800-1958 for the US and other countries, and death/burial information http://search.labs.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html Also you can find Michigan Death Certificates for the years 1897 to 1920 and Civil War Records plus some other records at this website: http://seekingmichigan.cdmhost.com/seeking_michigan/seek_advanced.php You can also contact the Wexford Geanealogy Organization at [email protected] They have extensive information in their resource library. It is helpful if you have names and dates when contacting them.
