I am not sure when she moved to the Detroit area, but believe she lived there at least in the early 1940's. She moved there with her mother Fanchion Wade RANSOME STALCUP. Fanchion was divorced from her husband Chester Stalcup and possible was married or living with a man of the last name ROCHE. Gloria and her mother do not show up in the 1930 census that I can find. I do have a WWII Enlistment Record of Gloria enlisting in the Army (WAC) on Jan 04, 1944 in Detroit. I just ran across a newspaper article from 2/19/1944 from the Pittsburgh Press that mentions Pvt. Gloria Stalcup of Detroit known to Pittsburgh roller skating enthusiasts as "Gloria Roche" hanging up her skates to join the Army. It also states that she won many American and Canadian roller and ice skating championships and appeared in rink shows throughout the nation. A Google search using that information doesn't yield anything. I'm hoping there might! be someone in your area who is aware of Gloria Stalcup Roche and her ice/roller skating exploits from the early 1940's - she was famous enough to have a small article appear in a Pittsburgh, PA newspaper, so hopefully she had enough noteriety in the Detroit area that someone would recall her.
