The cemetery association is really helpful. The names are taken from the death records and if they were in error, the cemetery still has to use that name. My Dad's brother who died as an infant is buried under the wrong surname-similiar but wrong and they cannot change it. I had the same experience with the Detroit office but I finally did speak to someone who was very helpful. Now I wish I had gotten her name and a direct line if she had one. Also, each time I was transferred or instructed to select an option, I got what I considered a political type message for the City Clerk. I think the City has some mandatory furlough days because they have no money and that might have caused some problems too.
