His father Charles and my grandfather Joseph were brothers. Our family was very close to him and in fact he married me and my husband. The picture of your great-grandfather John Robert Salatka very much resembles my brother Jerry, who ironically is also a fireman, Deputy Chief of the Grand Rapids Fire Department.
