They have an index to the City of Detroit deaths. Email address is at the bottom of the website. http://www.detroit.lib.mi.us/featuredcollection/burton-historical-collection Street is spelled Cadieux. There is a William McMurray buried at Mt. Olivet. No date of death on the website but you can email the cemetery association: http://www.mtelliott.com/genealogy/search If he died in Detroit, you would get the death certificate from the City of Detroit; if he died in Wayne County, you would get it from the County Clerk or you could get it from the State of Michigan. All of those options are expensive if you do not have a date of death. And they are still fairly expensive with the DOD. Do you know where his wife is buried? If you do, try the cemetery. Wikipedia shows that Gratiot became part of Harper Woods. Not sure how good this info is. Death records are not considered a primary source for the date of birth.
