He was born in 1892 in Roscrea, Ireland. He immigrated in 1913. He lived in Detroit on West Columbia in 1942. I would like to find his death date and where he is buried. He died bet. 1942 and 1959. I know he was alive for the WWII draft and registered in 1942 and that his brother attended his burial before his brother died in 1959. I have looked in the Michigan Death Index but it only goes to 1952 and I am sure how complete it is. Uncle Bill was single, a union autoworker with the Hudson Motor Car Co. (later known as AMC)He fought in WWI and drafted as I said for WWII. I know he died before 1959 because his brother took a ferry from Rochester, NY (prob. more likely from Buffalo)along with his son and attended his funeral which was according to family stories was in a military cemetery. I have had no luck in finding his death and burial using any of the sources or indexes online. He is not listed on any US military websites on service memb! ers interments. I can find no SSN. Thanks Maria Suggestions? Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 2. Have you tried familysearch.org? They have Michigan deaths to 1952. Some of the indexes have images some not. This would near further the date of death. Is there a cemetery the family used? Might contact them. Work around gt uncle Bill working backwards; wife, kids, etc. Was he listed when they passed away? If so, most likely still alive then. If not, likely had passed away. Narrows the years down. Contact the library in Detroit -- Burton-- request a look up of the name if sure he passed away IN the City of Detroit. A few suggestions for you.
