Fort Street, downtown Detroit in July 1880 by Rev. Haas. They lived in downtown Detroit, having immigrated in 1868 and had Lorf Tailor Shop at 150 E. Columbia. They later lived at 705 W. Fort Street in 1900. BTW, Gottlieb Lorf's great great grandmother was Christiane Elisabeth "Michaelis" was born in 1714 in Jessen, Sachsen-Anhalt (just East of Wittenberg), near where the Lorf's were born (Buko, Coswig-Anhalt, Sachsen-Anhalt, Germany). (Christiane's father was Christian Ernst Michaelis) My Michaelis and Christineck families attended University of Halle, Martin Luther's University and were Sexton's in the Lutheran Church.
