    3. Can someone with the Drouin Collection resource look for Emelie Ducharme born in Detroit between 1847 and 1849? I'm hoping to learn her parents. Thank you in advance! Mary at i-be-leve@msn.com

    3. 1850 Census should help you. It does list children by name. Lord, keep your arm around my shoulder and your hand over my mouth. -----Original Message----- From: Joseph Martin <illinoisgenie@gmail.com> To: miwayne <miwayne@rootsweb.com> Sent: Fri, May 17, 2013 1:08 pm Subject: Re: [MIWAYNE] Look up-Early U.S. French Catholic Births Hello Mary, I see two records. 1847 - in Henryville - Hypolit Ducharme and Emelie Hubert parents 1849 - in Becancour - Raphael Ducharme and Olympe Pruneau parents Do you have a preference? 3. Mary, I'm not sure if this will be of any help to you, but I found a couple of things. But first, you said Emilie was born in Detroit, so I don't think there would be a birth listing for her in Drouin. I did find an Emilie Ducharme in the 1871 Canada census. She's born in the U.S. and living in Rochester, Essex, Ontario, with a Canadian family headed by a Victor Ouellette. Her estimated birth year is 1847. Then I find a marriage for an 'Emily' Ducharme in 1883 in Essex, Ont. One of the witnesses is Victor Ouellette. Her father is listed as Henry Ducharme, but there is no name for the mother other than Ducharme. The groom is Dolphis Barbary, aka Grandmaison.
