    3. Thanks Ruth! Sounds like what I need to do is go to the FHC and have the films brought in to get the file numbers and write to the courts, as I don't have Ancestry. I had gotten the info about where they were but at this point had not written for the records. You need the petition number from the index that was filmed by LDS and also on Ancestry.com. There are two other courts that naturalized Detroit residents - Recorder's Court and Wayne County Circuit Court. Recorder's Court records were published in the Detroit Society for Genealogical Research Magazine. Wayne County Circuit Court records were filmed by LDS and held at the Archives of Michigan.     3. The indexes to the Federal Court naturalizatons (Circuit Court for the Eastern District of Michigan) records are by soundex code. Your local library may have Ancestry.com I have 22 years experience as a professional genealogist here in the Detroit area and I'm glad to share my knowledge with this list.
