If she died in Detroit, the County won't have her death certificate. If she died in a hospital, it seems more likely that she was in Detroit. I think for that time period there were more hospitals in Detroit than in the suburbs. Following is a list of hospitals. Even though it is from 1967, you can see how many are in Detroit compared to the surrounding suburbs. We lived in Dearborn but four of my sisters were born in a Detroit hospital as were many of my cousins. This would be from about 1946 through the 1960s. http://wayne.migenweb.net/wayhospitals.htm She could also have been visiting someone in another county or country (Canada is just across the river).
