Evidently you have never used the library at MSU. Access to the university library is poor, and there is no guarantee that they will actually house the collection. The executive order implies that the library assets could be broken up and sent to any institution who may have an interest. The Michigan Genealogical Council and the librarians of the Abrams Genealogical Collection are very concerned about the citizens of this state losing their library and archives, so why shouldn't the rest of us be concerned? Will you still be so nonchalant when you no longer have access to one of the best genealogical collections in the country?
