They will not respond without the self-addressed stamped envelope. You must know the date of death or burial. There is no charge for this service as of December 2008. I would get her death notice first and if it shows the cemetery, contact the cemetery to see if Lester is buried there and if they have either the date of death or burial, then try the Dearborn library for his obit. You can order death certificates from the State of Michigan but they cost either $26.00 or $27.00. It is less at the city or county level but if he didn't die in the county that you wrote to, you don't get a refund. Oakland County might tell you if he is on the death index but not sure.
