Good Luck!!! I have been trying for years to get divorce record information from them. Mine is 1932. I have been "to the basement", promised a phone call when files were found ( not), have called requesting information and help (told to sent a letter) and filed a FOIA request and all they can tell me is: 1-the files are off site and will take a couple of weeks to get--never have gotten them 2-the names and dates don't match the computer they use. File numbers must have been repeated at some point and there is a file with different names. I have tried a FOIA request through the Clerk's office with no luck. I provided all the documentation that I had including the fact the records were off site. All I got was a reply of conflicting dates and names! DUH!! I also would greatly appreciate any help and/or suggestions. Possible someone has actually managed to get older records from the City? If so please contact me off list, I am interested in talking with you. Next year likely with try the FOIA again and if that doesn't work maybe writing to Mayor Bing might be able to shake lose the information. Good luck. I have not even attempted divorce records yet. My g.g.grandfather and g.g.grandmother were both divorced numerous times. Maybe I'll try it after the new year begins.
