My ancestors are located across the "street", road in Greenfield township in the 1876 Wayne county landowners; they are A. Cinader (Anton and Agnes Cinader); both families owned 40 acres; I believe this was later annexed to the city of Detroit and is now the area around 7mile and Livernois. There are many other families from Austria/Bohemia farming in Greenfield township in 1880: Porchaska, Hurky, Husna, Gudderly, Nemeck, Benda, Hulan, Jeilnick. There is also a F. Addison further south on ? Livernois with39 acres. Could this be your John? Also these names (as many others) changed through the years. Anton Cinader was Antony Schneider in the 1870 census, back to Cinader in 1880 but Cinadr on death certificate. In the 1860 census, the Addisons were in the 9th ward of the city of Detroit; the Cinaders were also in the 9th ward. As is John Hulan, their neighbor. They emigrated about 1853 or 1854. I am unable to locate where in Bohemia the Cinaders came from; one of the previous threads mentioned the Addison's came from the Prague area to Quebec. I may be wrong but I wonder if these families had ties before they came to Michigan? How were you able to ascertain Prague as the home? If you look at the Woodmere Cemetery site, you can now search records. There are a number of Addison's in Woodmere, including Frank and Mary (born 1823, d 9/1905; address on Michigan Ave, age 81); Frank's age not given but buried in same plot: 69. I am not sure what the boundaries of the lodge owned area was; Anton and Agnes Cinader are buried in Sect A lots 462 and 427. I am planning on returning to Woodmere to learn more about the lodge burials. Hope this gives you some further direction to look. Michigan death certificates 1897 to 1920 are online at seekingmichigan.org If you can more closely connect these early families from Bohemia, I will appreciate you posting the information Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
