I'm trying to locate records on my father, John George Dyrval, born March 23, 1927 in Hamtramck, MI to William Lewis Dyrval and Ruth Naomi (Oakley) Dyrval who divorced a few years later. Ruth moved to California, remarried and remained there. John took the surname name of his stepfather, Brockman. I can't locate any records anywhere under any name for my father prior to 1948. His father's side of the family all come from MI and I've been in contact with them, however they have no records or memories of him prior to 1945. Everyone that have seen pictures of both John and his brother, Bill, recall how much alike they looked, so he is not adopted. I thought perhaps they were twins. I am a member of the Anchorage Genealogy Society in Alaska, and would appreciate any assistance. Thank you.
