I have seen other death notices that were weeks and months after the death. With all those children, it may have been the best time for all of them to get together. That's what my husband's family did when their mother died in Colorado. She was cremated and since everyone was going to be in Colorado that year for the family Christmas celebration, they had her memorial service at that time.
