    3. May I make one small footnote to this previous message. Before 1867 there may be no civil records of birth, but a church baptism record before that time would include the date of birth and the date of baptism. I am not home right now but one of the requirements is that the person was born either 100 or 110 years ago-can't remember which it is. Another is that you are the person whose birth record it is or you are a legal guardian or parent of the person and I think the other is that if the person is dead, you are an heir. If you have the website for the State of Michigan' vital records department, it will tell you what the requirements are. If the birth happened before 1867, there are no records. State did not required births or deaths to be recorded before 1867. Marriages were recorded at the county level prior to that time.
