Until I read your old posting, I only knew the first name of his wife, Augusta. He was a brother of my great-grandmother. In your post from Nov 26 2000 you mention that Carl Friedrich Riemer was born 12 Mar 1843 in Harchin. Were you able to locate that place? I couldn't find it in my gazetteer of Germany from 1901. Where did you find the place name? I would love to hear from you.
