Joseph Kowalski and Anastasia Pokrzewinska were marred in the Catholic Church in what is now Radzyn Chelminski in the previous Polish province of Bydgoszcz on 10 October 1850. He was 24 and she was 20. They had been living in the town of Gawlowice. The family immigrated to the U.S. in 1883 and settled in Detroit. Their daughter Marianna was married to Frank Pocierznicki in Poland, and they immigrated in 1882. Their daughter Julia married John Sroczynski in Poland, and they came to the U.S, about 1882. All these couples raised their families n Detroit. In Detroit their son Joseph Kowalski married Apolonia Skibinska on 14 June 1886 at St. Albertus Church. Then on 9 January 1888 their daughter Rosalia Kowalski married John Wisniewski in Detroit. Their son Franz Kowalski immigrated with Joseph and Anastasia, but other records for him have not surfaced.
