Etta was born in January 1872 to Joseph Gage (founder of Gagetown and born in Canada). To them was born a John Raymond Peterson that died between 1916 and 1920 (no census record for John Peterson after this) - WWI draft card is available and it looks like he enlisted but can't find any death record in WWI. Between 1891 and 1893 Robert and Etta moved to Detriot, Wayne County. So between 1893 and 1897 Robert Arthur Peterson died and Etta remarried a Robert Buxton (1900 US Census for Wayne County) in 1897. How should I go about finding the date of death for Robert Peterson between 1893 and 1897 as well as his son John R Peterson between 1916 and 1920? I am really stuck here as the death indexes for Detroit start in 1920. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Hello whomever you are, The Libary of Michigan has a searchable database of Michigan death records from 1897 to 1920. I found a death record for John Peterson, died 8 December 1918 in Detroit, with wife Bertha. He was 29, a contractor, and was born in Caseville, Michigan. His father Robert was born in Totonto, and his mother with no name listed was also born in Toronto. Could this be your man?
