He appears in the SSDI as John "Kopylowski" with a birth date of 1 December 1887 and a death date of December 1968. I have not found him in the database of the Mt. Elliott Cemeteries nor on the CD of the burials at Sacred Heart of St. Mary Cemetery. I have his marriage record to Agnes Jozwiak on 26 October 1910 and their census records for 1920, 1930 and 1940. If I had an exact date of death, I could seek his obituary. I would appreciate any suggestions for where to search next. I have not found a date or place of death for his wife Agnes either, and she is not in the SSDI. Thank you. Thank you, Marge. I have tentatively planned a trip to Lansing in late June. Joseph, Think I would first check the locations of all the census. Did they move around? Stay in the same place? Then check if any cemeteries in the general area of. Where are her parents buried. They may be in the same cemetery. Don't forget Forest Lawn is just down VanDyke from Mt. Olivet and Gethsemane is off Gratiot by City (Opps Coleman Young) Airport, along with many others in Detroit and surrounding area. Trusting you checked Findagrave.com. Otherwise, probably would be worth the cost of sending to Lansing for the death cert. since you have the month and year, shouldn't be a problem. when you have the date, I would be happy to check on my next trip to Library of MI for you. Just let me know. The church books for St. John are microfilmed by the LDS. As are quite a few other churches in Detroit. There's a book that put together a list of who was pastor where and when I think until about 1900. I'll be at the library Tuesday night and can check it for Haass. I know I've looked him up before in it but I don't remember who I was working on and thus whose file the note is in. Lisa
