    1. [MIWAYNE] Margaret (Maggie) Williams
    2. John Bell
    3. Hello MIWayne Listers My name is John Bell and I live in Ireland. I'm researching a relative, Margaret Bell who left home in Kenmare, Co. Kerry, Ireland, in 1911 and landed in NY. The Italian Marriage index states that she married a John H Williams in Feb 1926. I have traced her death on the SS index which gives her residence as Wayne, Detroit, MI. in Sept 1977. I cannot find anything on John H Williams. As MAGGIE'S date of birth was 20 December 1891, an entry in the 1930 Census for Alabama, naming a John H and Margaret Williams, with a Daughter Mary aged 10 years. I cannot prove that this is my Margaret, and the Mary would have been born out of wedlock, in 1920, possible of course!!!! What I am hoping for is that someone might be able to establish the SS death record of John H. Also it may be possible that he had an Army record for WW11. Maybe he died in the war! Also, if it could be established that the MARGARET in the 1930 census for Alabama, was born in Ireland. This might link my Margaret to this family. Any other ideas would be welcomed, like local obituaries etc. I will look forward to a reply, Thank you, John. Maggie WILLIAMS SS Record. Birth Date: 20 Dec 1891. Death Date: Sep 1977. Social Security Number: 437-01-8300. State or Territory Where Number Was Issued: Louisiana Death Residence Localities ZIP Code: 48213 Localities: Detroit, Wayne, Michigan

    2. Barbra Rule
    3. The 1930 census record in Biringham, Alabama is not what you are looking for. John, Maggie and Mary were all born in Alabama. She was married at the age of 20. I did not find anything for a John H. Williams, he would have been too old for WW11, no record for WW1. The WW11 records are not complete, at this time. (Ancestry.com) But, I did find this: 1920 U.S. Census - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Margaret Bell born in Ireland. Age 28, date of immigration, 1912. She was working as a attendent at the Pennsylvania Hospital for Mental and ? Deseases. I did not find a 1930 census record for Margaret Bell, she must have married before that time. I will let you know if I find anything else, but not tonight. That birthdate is for John Norris of NJ, NY, and MI, who married Mary Hall and possibly Louis Cole Morris. John's father would have been born around 1840-1858. 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: CStanley84 Surnames: Norris Hall Baldwin Cole Morris Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.michigan.counties.wayne/17910/mb.ashx Message Board Post: **Important considerations... The Chapter titled NORRISES OF NEW JERSEY, from the book NORRISES IN AMERICA, by Leonard Allison Morrison, lists TWO SONS OF JOB NORRIS: Walter (b. 1748 NJ) and John (b. 1740 NJ). Both married sisters with the maiden name of BALDWIN and lived in NJ. BOTH had sons named JOHN, that moved to Wayne County, MI. The book lists John Norris, father of Jabez B. Norris of Brighton, NY "(?)" as son of Walter (& Miss BALDWIN), but where it states the name of Jabez B, it is followed by "(?)" so showing the possibility it could be wrong. The book also lists a John Norris of Plymouth, [Wayne Co] Michigan, son of John Norris and Susan BALDWIN (brothers marrying sisters), so you have two John Norris' in Wayne County, of the same generation, that are first cousins. Dates for this John are not included. It should be considered that this John might use Jr. behind his name. There are a few references to John Norris Jr both in census and land records in Wayne County, MI. There is only one John Norris in Wayne County, MI, in 1860 (that I've found) that is of the correct age and birthplace to be MY John Norris, husband of Mariah/Mary Hall. He was living in Nankin Twp. (where his son, John W. Norris was married and resided for a time) and married to a woman named Lois or Louis. She appears to be Lois/Louis COLE, widow of Lewis Morris, according to the genealogy of the COLE line. That genealogy notes that she moved to Nankin, MI, after the death of her first husband and that she married again to John Norris. John W. Norris (b. 1824 Penfield, NY) lists his father, John Norris (b. 1778 NJ), moving from NY to Michigan in 1834, about the time of his wife Mary HALL's death and also lists his father's death date in 1862, Michigan. John Norris, b. 1778 NJ (husband of Lois/Louis COLE) died between 1860 and 1870, in the twp where his son married and lived for a time - Nankin. Lois/Louis (COLE) Morris Norris died in 1870, Washtenaw Co. MI. ANYONE OUT THERE RESEARCHING THIS LINE WANT TO HELP ME SORT IT ALL OUT? YOUR surname, not the word SURNAME. One to an email. 3. That's all you need unless the name is common, in which case please add such things as first name, occupation, addresses from 1910/1900 censuses, etc. I don't care about anything else re the family--this is not a census but a directory of WORKING people, not children, etc. 4. Don't make your email so long that it prints out longer than one page at my end. You don't need to repeat these instructions. 5. Be patient.
