I hope you get this reply too though! I think I had myself mixed up. Jim's brother Thomas lived in Dearborn, which could be the one you have here? Thomas worked for Ford as a crane driver and Jim worked for Chrysler (not 100%). I found Thomas in Dearborn on the 1930 census when I had a 30 day free trial on Ancestry.com. I re-read an old email I got years back from Jim & Tom's nephew which confirmed I had them the wrong way round. Jim's address was Birwood. I found a Birwood St & Ave (seems to alternate as you go North away from town). Anyway, I wrote a letter - with paper and pen; had to remind myself how to do it - and posted last week. Maybe a slim chance of a reply but no harm in trying. I hoped to track Thomas' son Jack down as he met my dad in New York in 1945 when they were in the Navy (Jack in the US and my dad in the Royal Navy - we're Scottish). I have a picture of them. Jack had a band that played at the Detroit Yacht club in the 60s. I found them in he Grosse Pointe News archive. Apparently he also had a radio show. Unfortunately the 'trail' goes cold there. Oh well, fingers crossed! Thanks for the helpful info. All the best Mark Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. It's possible she wasn't buried. Have you tried contacting the church, they may have information. What funeral homes are in the Clawson area? Tried calling or writing to them. Otherwise, I would send to either Oakland County Clerk or Lansing to get the death cert.
