    1. [MIWAYNE] Death Index Lookup Request
    2. I'm new to the list and would greatly appreciate a lookup in the Detroit death index. Peter Byrne reportedly died in Detroit about 1959. A relative of his in Ireland has helped me much with my Irish research, and I'd like to return the favor by finding his obituary, but first I understand I need his death date. Thanks much to anyone who can help. Diane in Illinois

Based on limited research I was able to locate the following information in census records: 1900 census of Bedford Township, OH: Willard O. I believe both were born in Dayton, Ohio. William was probably born in early 1930. Their parents were Herbert and Dorothy Webb. The brothers probably moved to Detroit by themselves in the late 1940's or early 1950's. They are both mentioned in their father's (1952) and grandmother's (Clara May Webb d. 1953) obituaries as living in Detroit. But the trail ends there. My family lived in Detroit during World War II. We left there and came back to our native West Virginia in 1947. I've been back to visit a couple of times, but that is all. We lived in two locations there - one on Senator Street or Avenue and the other on Church Street. I started kindergarten at Henry Ford Grade School in 1945. I carry pictures of these places in my mind's eye. I would love to communicate with someone who is familiar with these places. > > Also, I am looking for an obituary for Jane Melchior. She was my mom's best friend during those years and they stayed in touch until my mom died in 1975. At that time, Jane was living in River Rouge, Wayne County. She was married to Don Melchior. They had one daughter. I know when that daughter's birthday is, but will withhold that info for security purposes. From the Social Security death index, I believe Jane Melchior died on 25 Jan 2004. Her last known residence then was River Rouge. And the age was right - so I believe I have the right person. > > Joy Stalnaker > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to MIWAYNE-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message _________________________________________________________________ Windows Live: Keep your friends up to date with what you do online. http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9691815
