My great-great grandfather died between the 1920 and 1930 Census. I would love to find a record of his death in order to confirm his birthdate but I don't know where I should search. Do you think Gratiot Township records are kept in Grosse Pointe or Detroit City? I don't know where to start looking. Please help! Thanks!!!! This is the only photo I have of him. His name at his death was Miles Adolph Sr. but I believe his name was Milos Adolphus at birth. As the story goes, my grandmother made Milos shorten his name to Miles Adolph because she didn't want to have the name Adolphus. She has passed and everyone with any knowledge of my grandfather is gone. My father didn't know his dad due to the fact that my father was two years of age when Miles passed in 1950. It is also believed that Miles was a Reverend at his death, at what church I am not sure. I also heard that he may have had an affiliation with the Purple Gang early in his life. However, my grandfather is from Baldwin, Georgia and was born and this is all speculation as well in 1915. My aunt which was seven when he died said he is buried around the area of 13 and Gratiot in Roseville or the Clinton Township area. As you see everyone, I have no concrete information only this picture of he and my grandmother. I can't even find their marriage certificate. I do have the address of their home which was torn down in the 90's. They lived at 2528 Burlage Place, Detroit, MI 48207. CAN ANYONE LEND A HAND TO SHED LIGHT ON MY HERITAGE? The records can be down loaded to a flash drive. Also The Church of the Latter Day Saints have genealogy centers which have Institutional Ancestry.com access.
